Fallen Mask

You didn’t know me,
What I was thinking
And why.
You had a picture of me
Inside your head,
But I was nothing like that.
It was hard having on this mask,
To hide whom I really was.
Hide myself.
Hide the madness.
Trying to be like you,
But failing.
The years passed by,
And the mask got heavier.
The smile had frozen,
And I was no longer trying to be like you.
I took the mask on for protection,
But it seems like ive fooled myself.
he mask is hiding the truth,
Hiding the real me,
And im lost inside myself.
Without it im frail and naked,
With it im no one.
Im trying to break out from the inside,
Fight the mask.

The mask is breaking.
The pieces are falling.
And so have the mask fallen,
And so have I.
