Low came to play a show last night, and this had me somewhat excited for a few reasons.  First, their music is quite nice in a delicate sort of fashion.  Secondly, a room full of people who possibly like the same thiing i do is possible potential for meeting someone, anyone.
When i arrived, there were only about five people there.  Those in attendance never filled up more than 2/3 of the venue; it was kind of pathetic as it demonstrated the lack of musical culture on campus.  Still, there were at least 70 people at the show.  Most of them were emo/indie/punk kids with their tattered vintage overpriced resale clothing and intentionally messy hair, or middle aged listeners who used to be those kids.  It seemed like everyone there was hanging on to someone else, be it significant other or close friend.  At one point, I thought I saw the girl from the summer, but that could have been my imagination i suppose.  Just seeing everyone happily content was somewhat depressing, because, well, i'm not...
I ended up not talking to anyone at the show, or even coming close to.  I could have easily talked to anyone.  Just a few simple words: "You like Low?...what else do you like?" and that would have done it, most likely.  But, I never said anything.  I should have tried to peek outside my shell at least once, but i didn't.  Something's wrong with me.
Low put on a great show, although I didn't recognize a single song which surprised me a slight bit.  Earlier in their set, I was pretty over-the-edge depressed just from seeing all those joined people and being introspective at the music and all.  I was thinking "i need someone, not just a friend but a girlfriend.  Someone who i can share emotions freely as well as physical affection.  i need someone to save me from my self-destructive nature."  Although i still feel the same way to a degree, it's not anywhere near with the same furvor.  I suppose emotion in the moment can do that to indivudals with nothing better to think about.
I'm a low-maintenance person, i don't need much, just an occaisonal saying of "i like you, i'm glad to be with you" and weekly meeting or something...if you exist, please find me, because i am surely never going to find you.  mailme
I got rejected from an on campus web developer job today.  Great, more rejection, just what i need.
